A Very Duggar Press Conference

The Duggars drove through the night to make it to a press conference this week in Columbus to show their support for the Ohio Heartbeat Bill. Jim Bob and Michelle, joined by 17 of their children and 2 family friends (Jonathan and Jason Hartono), share their thoughts on the bill in the following YouTube videos:

  1. I hope everyone realizes that they can support whatever they want to support without worshiping these "TV families." Our worship can only be to God. The Duggars don't allow pants on women, cutting women's hair, they do allow perming hair because Jim Bob likes it that way, the men don't show their thighs. You take another show--the Willis Clan that has 12 children--they most certainly show men's physiques, women in pants, dancing, etc. What the Duggars and the Willis have in common is that they want to reproduce a clan. Well, they are both on their way, but it is pure fantasy that either clam can take over even a tiny town, much less the world! Even if the Bates join them!

  3. It is so encouraging to hear that AR passed this bill already and that Ohio is the next up to do so. Praise God! I pray that this will spread throughout our country.

    1. Hi Nicole,

If you live in Ohio, you can call your senator (http://heartbeatbill.com/take_action.htm). The organization in support of the bill also accepts donations ((http://www.heartbeatbill.com/donate/).

  5. God bless the Duggar family!! They truly live their convictions!! You can make a difference too, right from where you live. God uses us in the ways He can, not all are called upon to travel and speak, but we all can make a difference if we choose too.

  7. There are plenty that take care of the children they have, and would love to adopt but it won't work out financially or for other reasons they cannot be approved here in USA.

And obviously the first commenter does not watch the show. The Duggar women *prefer* to wear skirts, but have worn pants on the show while skydiving and while skiing. They have all been shown cutting their hair, Michelle recently had nearly 8 inches cut off her hair, so obviously they do cut their hair when they want to. They've said before they have no problem with shorter hair, but they know that Jim Bob likes long hair, so they keep it longer. Michelle has also said that they don't perm their hair anymore, they use curlers. And many many Southern men prefer not to wear shorts, my father is one of them. His parents never bought shorts for their boys b/c they thought it looked goofy on boys/men to wear shorts. And they were NOT christians.

My family *prefers* skirts, but will wear pants if the occasion calls for it. My boys wear shorts that come below the knee only, just like my girls' skirts do. We do trim our hair, but prefer it long.

And yet, we love many people who do none of those things. We don't judge them, or even think they're wrong. We just do things the way *we* prefer, and they do things they way *they* prefer.

In commment to this post, Good job Duggars! Thank God for those who stand up for the unborn!
